Connect To Mustang Wireless: Guest Login
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR MACINTOSH USERS: Starting Fall quarter 2009, Snow Leopard users (10.6) will authenticate to Mustang Wireless using any web browser. The Cisco Clean Access Agent is not currently compatible with Snow Leopard, but we anticipate a delivery date of Winter quarter, 2009, for a compatible Agent. All other Macintosh users (10.5 and under...10.5 is regular Leopard) can use a web browser or the Cisco Clean Access Agent to authenticate; we recommend using the Agent, as it will leave you logged in longer than the web browser will. PDA users will still register their device at the ITS Service Desk, building 14, room 114. Thank you!
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR WINDOWS USERS: Starting Fall quarter 2009, Windows 7 users will authenticate to Mustang Wireless using any web browser. The Cisco Clean Access Agent is not currently compatible with Windows 7, but we anticipate a delivery date of Winter quarter, 2009, for a compatible Agent. All other Windows users can use a web browser or the Cisco Clean Access Agent to authenticate; we recommend using the Agent, as it will leave you logged in longer than the web browser will. Guest login is available on Cal Poly's Cisco Clean Access wireless network. Guest Accounts are administered by the ITS Service Desk for valid campus purposes. Here are the steps:
- A guest requests an account at the ITS Service Desk; there, a user will be asked to fill out a wireless guest account form. The form is also available at http://its.calpoly.edu/documents/RUP-Network-DHCP.pdf
- The user must have a DLAN Coordinator or other on-campus sponsor. The sponsor must submit a Service Request ticket to the Service Desk on behalf of their guest. The ticket should indicate the beginning and ending dates for which access will be needed.
- Once the form is submitted by the user and the Service Request ticket is submitted by the sponsor, the request will be processed. The account and password will be given to the sponsor.
- Guest accounts are valid from 8:00 am Monday to 8:00 am the following Monday.
- If the guest is running Windows or Mac they must download and install the Cisco Clean Access Agent. Linux users do not require the CCA client and can log in following the instructions here. For Windows 2000/XP and Mac users, opening a web browser will prompt for user name and password.
- After logging in the browser will request you to download the CCA Agent.
- Once the Agent has been installed and launched, simply choose "Cal Poly Guest" as shown below, and login with the username and password obtained from the ITS Service Desk.
If you need additional assistance installing and running the CCA agent please see the full instructions below:
Note: Before logging into CCA you must change the "Authentication Provider" drop down box to "Cal Poly Guest" as seen in images below.
